Design Trust Feature Grant Recipient Kanta Kochhar-Lindgren and her team will present their project Traveling Architectures, an Interactive Exhibit with Tour and Multi-Media Performance with Q & A, at the HKU Black Box on June 17, 2017, from 11 am-6 pm.

Design Trust is excited to announce that from the 7th-9th of July we are collaborating with the New York-based Storefront for Art and Architecture, bringing the first ever Storefront International Series to Asia and Hong Kong. As part of the Storefront International Series: Hong Kong (Storefront IS Hong Kong), a public review for Design Trust Futures Studio will also be held on 8th July.

On May 18th 2017, Design Trust presented a Dinner Dialogue at B&B Italia Flagship Store to share with our community Design Trust Futures Studio, a new flagship programme created and conceptualized by Co-founder and Executive Director Marisa Yiu.

The M+ / Design Trust Research Fellowship programme aims to support an original research project investigating issues relating to design and architecture in the Greater Pearl River Delta region, and between the region and other parts of the world. Apart from expanding the current body of knowledge in these areas, it is hoped that the findings from the fellowship will also inform future acquisitions and other programmes at M+. The deadline for submitting the application is 24 July 2017.

Applications are invited for the Design Trust / RCA Fellowship in Design Curation, which is designed to support the development of curatorial careers in design.

On Saturday 22nd April, Design Trust presented a community event, featuring our grant recipient Dim Sum Labs, in District 15’s warehouse space as part of the “Warehouses on West Block Party”.

On Monday 20th March 2017, Design Trust hosted the first Introduction Workshop with the participants of the new flagship programme, Design Trust Futures Studio, initiated and conceptualized by Marisa Yiu, Co-founder, Executive Director of DESIGN TRUST.

Congratulations to Design Trust Grant Recipients of the recent January 2017 cycle: Polly Ho and Andy Wong; Xiaoxuan Lu, Ivan Valin and Susanne Trumpf; Research & Development department, Het Nieuwe Instituut, project led by Marina Otero Verzier; and the team of Brian Kwok and Anneke Coppoolse. Our next grant application deadline is 20th April, 2017.

We are excited to announce DESIGN TRUST FUTURES STUDIO will be launched soon with preparations underway. The programme is initiated by Marisa Yiu, Co-founder, Executive Director of DESIGN TRUST. More details will be shared soon.
