DEVELOPMENT MANAGER or
ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT & EVENTS

To grow into future position as Head of Development or Director of Development

 

With Manager level business development skills, final roles and title can be discussed in detail according to candidates' background, strengths and experience.

Design Trust, an innovative non-profit organisation, is looking for a dynamic, organized team member to engage in the development of strategies for patrons, trustees, and sponsors relationships, as well as events management. Working closely with the Executive Director, the candidate should be a leader, an enthusiastic learner, detailed oriented, great organiser, self-starter, and interested in design, cultural and design related issues.

Responsibilities:

  • - Structuring and management of patrons, trustees, and sponsors relationships;
  • - Developing an annual programme of events for patrons, trustees, and sponsors;
  • - CRM/ database management and adhering to data privacy regulations;
  • - Work plan strategies including budgets, projected incomes and tracking monthly budgets;
  • - Building sponsorship acquisition and renewal strategies;
  • - Planning and implementation of annual fundraiser and other events;
  • - Planning and implementation of marketing collaterals and messaging to ensure brand alignment.

Fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese is required. Strongly preferred with fluent spoken and written Mandarin Chinese/ Putonghua as a plus. Knowledge of the Design Industry, Cultural and Creative ecosystem of Hong Kong, Greater Bay Area, Shanghai and Beijing to other Asian regions is expected as well as knowledge and alignment with DESIGN TRUST’s core values.

Candidates with Master Level Degree academic qualification is preferred and highly recommended for this post with a minimum of 7 years work experience in a professional field.

DESIGN TRUST INTERNSHIPS - GRAPHIC DESIGN

 

We are currently seeking interns in graphic design, individuals with strong research skills to work on book design, graphics for social media, infographics with a curatorial mindset. GRANTS & MARKETING MANAGER or GRANTS & PROGRAMME COORDINATOR

 

Design Trust is looking for an energetic and passionate grants and programme coordinator or manager level to handle our ongoing patrons and public activities, manage and oversee our grants application workflow. The position will require great communication skills with stakeholders and representatives from different institutions. Depending on the track record and CV Portfolio other titles and remuneration levels will be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • - Manage and handle incoming grants applications, liaise and work with application vetting panel;
  • - Support, organise and coordinate outreach programmes and events;
  • - Communicate with partnership institutions and organisations;
  • - Presenting and organising application and vetting process, ensuring transparency and fairness;
  • - Prepare design presentation materials, proposals, reports and other confidential documents;
  • - Support all internal and external communications: website, social media and events;
  • - Maintain and update administrative filing in a systematic way, ensuring accuracy and validity of information.

* PR communications support. Excellent organisational skills. Proficient in writing and speaking English and Chinese is required. Interest in design and cultural research programmes.

DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

Design Trust is looking for a savvy and outgoing Development Coordinator who will handle our fundraising efforts. The individual will be working closely with all director and board members in reaching out and maintaining patron relationships, and pitching sponsorship opportunities to brands.

EVENTS HELPER

Design Trust is looking for a dynamic and organized individual to engage in all areas of being our events helper.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the Design Trust team:

  • - Assist and ensure smooth running of the exhibition
  • - Answer enquiries, ushering and promote exhibition to visitors
  • - Facilitate exchange with the community; assist with workshops, opening events, and public lecture, as well as conducting surveys.
  • - Assist with the set-up and dismantle for the exhibitions and events, logistics liaison, moving of exhibition models, etc.
  • - Conducting exhibition tours of approximately 1 hour in length. Be comfortable speaking to small and large groups of people of all ages.
  • - Greeting and welcoming tour groups upon their arrival.
  • - Dealing skillfully with a variety of visitors under a variety of circumstances.
  • - In the event that a tour fails to show up, docent might wander through the exhibition gallery to engage individual visitors and families in impromptu tours or conversations.
  • - Taking responsibility to find a replacement docent if you cannot give a tour that has been assigned to you.

Requirements:

  • - Good communication skill in English and Chinese
  • - Interest and passionate with design topics
  • - Flexibility in working hours
  • - Relevant work experience is preferred
