Design Trust Feature Grant recipient Naiyi Wang will curate Matters of Care exhibition at Guangzhou Design Triennial 2024 at Guangdong Museum of Arts from January 16th to May 12th 2024. Built upon her previous grant project Care Pavilion at London Design Biennale 2023, the upcoming exhibition Matters of Care, supported by Design Trust Feature Grant, continues to invite and gather interdisciplinary designers, architects, and scholars from around the globe to respond to “CARE”, using the Triennial as a testing ground to re-imagine the politics and ethics of care. Sited at Guangdong Museum of Arts in Guangzhou, the inaugural Guangzhou Design Triennial 2024 is themed “The Warm-beings” with the curatorial team of chief curator Wang Shaoqiang along with co-curators Vicky Richardson, Li Degeng, Design Trust Futures Studio Mentor Stanley Wong, and Design Trust grantee Naiyi Wang.

Design Trust Feature Grant symposium on “Tolerance and Transformation” led by Donn Holohan will take place on January 20th (Saturday) from 9:00am to 6:00pm at Asia Society, Miller Theatre, Former Explosives Magazine, 9 Justice Drive, Admiralty, Hong Kong. Organised by Department of Architecture, the University of Hong Kong, this symposium aims to foster an alternative dialogue on the future of architectural production, centred on tolerance and encompassing both its technical and more humane interpretations. It is a response to the increasingly specialised and technocratic nature of discussions of the future of the construction industry, and its apparent inability to address an unprecedented environmental crisis. Speakers include Summer Islam, Xu Tiantian, Paolo Tombesi ,Anne Holtrop, Shin Egashira, Groupwork, Philip Yuan, Mollie Claypool and Yusuke Obuchi. Please register here to join the symposium.
