“Because the world has slowed down, we also had the luxury to reorganise our office archive, to learn about and reflect upon what we have done,” says SO-IL. From SO-IL is a collection of soaps, created from their archive of model moulds. Thinking of the small gestures like hand washing called for at this time, ‘SO-AP: Rinse and Repeat’ demonstrates the designers’ desire to repurpose their visions for the current needs of society – to protect individuals themselves, protect people they love, and also protect strangers that are loved by others. These soaps explore the experience of what it feels to hold a building in our hands, to use it every day intimately.
