About The Ambassadors' Ball 2016
Themed as “Dare to Dream”, Stickyline, Creative Directors for this year’s ball, also the alumni of the programs by the Ambassadors of Design drew inspiration from one of the local comedian Stephan Chow’s top grossing shows, Shaolin Soccer – “without any dreams in life, we would be like salted fish”. This serves as a reminder to all of the power of dreams and the importance of pursuing one’s dreams; even if may seem a far-flung or radical idea. The creative duo also donated “Dreams Come True (I am not a Salted Fish)”, a unique and commissioned sculpture for auction and raised additional funds for the evening.
Master of ceremony, Desmond So, conducted the evening’s proceedings. As with every year, highlight of the evening was the Live and Silent auction led by Jehan Chu, featuring over 75 design items and art pieces, along with some travel and dining and wine lots. The auction also showcased works by local masters including Alan Chan, Joyce Wang, Andre Fu, anothermountainman (Stanley Wong), to name a few. All proceeds from the auction would be donated to Design Trust as contribution to the seed capital for grant disbursement.
