Design Trust Seed Grant Recipient Pelin Tan will be presenting her research “Territorial Sea and Contiguous Zone”, a project that develops and builds an understanding of the delta ontology through mapping both the legal infrastructures and the thresholds of the territories of the Pearl River Delta Sea.
In her work, Pelin Tan conducted a survey which looked at localized manual design practices, with a focus on female labour and everyday life in fishing villages of the sea culture of the PRD. She has documented ways in which sea culture exists with a focus on marine transportation, border infrastructures, islands & archipelago, and everyday life of sea communities and resources of the sea.
Please join us on Tuesday, January 24th 2017 at 6:30pm, the event will be taking place at Spring Workshop. Spring Workshop is located at 3/F, Remex Centre (enter on Heung Yip Road), 42 Wong Chuk Hang Rd, Aberdeen.
Panelists include curator/designer Jun Jiang and artist/curator Arlette Quynh-Anh Tran.
