In the past few months, the design team of Design Trust Futures Studio micro-parks programme for Hamilton Street Rest Garden have been working hard to realise the design into physical public space in Hong Kong together with the construction management by Architectural Services Department and Leisure and Cultural Services Department. As the design team at Hamilton Street Rest Garden integrated local crafts from the neighbourhood’s culture of manufacturing and craftsmanship, including the park signage made from a chopping board with Man Kee Chopping Board and the making of feature lights with Bing Kee Copperware, they are also exploring innovative solutions adapting to local climatic and site challenges.
