As part of Design Trust Decade celebration, Design Trust participated in BOOKED: Hong Kong Art Book Fair 2024 for the first time at Tai Kwun Contemporary from Friday August 30th to Sunday September 1st 2024. We are proud to present our micro-park book “Design Trust Futures Studio: from Smallness, Playfulness to Community Impact” documenting the creative collaboration of past five years, along with Design Trust grantee publication highlights including “Unknown Brutalism Architecture in Hong Kong” by grant recipient Bob Pang, “Hong Kong Modern Architecture of the 1950s-1970s” by grant recipient Walter Koditek, and more. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for all the kind support from our community and Tai Kwun team including Mr. Pi Li (Head of Art, Tai Kwun Contemporary) and Design Trust grantee Ms. Ingrid Pui Yee Chu (Associate Curator, Tai Kwun Contemporary). All proceeds will go towards education, micro-parks, design development projects, regional design research programme, and research grants for the DESIGN TRUST initiative, created in 2014 by registered charity Hong Kong Ambassadors of Design that was founded in 2007.

On September 1st 2024, Design Trust welcomed the Design Trust Legacy Award 2021 Honouree Dr. Henry Steiner, and Mrs. Margaret Steiner to our booth who generously donated his books “Cross-Cultural Design: Communicating in the Global Marketplace” and “Corporate Identities Selected by Henry Steiner” with a special signing session at the book fair. Steiner’s generosity of nurturing and supporting design communities marked a highlight moment of the book fair where design enthusiasts from Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Australia were inspired by his presence and creative spirit.
