DESIGN TRUST is excited to announce DESIGN TRUST FUTURES STUDIO pilot programme, as part of our 10th year anniversary events. The programme is initiated and conceptualized by Marisa Yiu, Co-founder, Executive Director of DESIGN TRUST. Preparations are underway and more details will be shared soon.

“In bringing various communities together, both in the public and private sector, educational arena and across borders, I hope we can advance a spirit of generosity and dialogue within our region and internationally. We advocate for the positive values of design in the role for shaping a better city and region we live in. Our new flagship programme DESIGN TRUST FUTURES STUDIO is a pilot programme to explore and experiment with new ideas, exchanges and ultimately transform the individual and collective notion of how we participate in the production of a city,” says Marisa Yiu.

A first gathering took place on Monday 20th March with a 4-1/2 hour non-stop workshop. A few well-known faces, and some new ones, came together for an evening of planning, discussion and brainstorming. Futures Studio makes visible the processes and debates on the culture of contemporary design. Formatted as a series of workshops, discussions and conceptual design interventions, established designers (mentors & advisors) will work closely with nominated participants (emerging designer mentees) to showcase new ideas and works to the public. Cross-discipline in nature, experts in their fields will focus on future thinking with outcomes that are impactful to society or public space relating to HK & PRD, and show how design can positively contribute to society and public space. Design Trust is pleased to announce Create Hong Kong as the major sponsor for the 2017 flagship launch.
