The uncertainty and unpredictability of the ongoing COVID pandemic has injected great amounts of stress in the daily life of many individuals, and has confined most to small spaces, in close proximity to the same people for long periods of time. While all are in the process of adjusting to this new norm, Fung Ming Chip has designed a “thermometer for engaging,” a visual indicator of the user’s different states of mental health across time. The ‘Mood Indicator’ is designed for people stuck at home during the COVID-19 period to express their mood everyday at four levels: 1) I’m fine, welcome; 2) I’m not so good; 3) Give me space; 4) Back off.
