Continuing Design Trust foundation’s work and studies on the value of heritage and design, a special guided tour recently took place at The Mills with Ray Zee, Head of Design illustrated the building process of the preservation of its industrial past and its revitalization into Hong Kong’s textile and technology incubator. Design Trust Grantee Florian Wegenast from Studio Florian + Christine showed their inventive approach towards the investigation exploring the utilization of found sea waste materials during their residency at The Mills Fabrica.

To witness the reinvention of Hong Kong’s textile past into a sustainable tech future, the ‘FUTURE FASHION LAB’ project was also just launched by 2019 Design Trust Grantees Kay Wong and Toby Crispy at THE ANNEX, The Mills- opening up their exhibition and ongoing programmes and talks, sharing various perspectives in creating possibilities and innovations for sustainable wearables.
