Design Trust Futures Studio 2018: Design Dialogue “Who are we designing for?”

20. 1. 2019

Design Dialogue “Who are we designing for?” | How do we design for the future and create opportunities from the challenges of reality? With the vast support network of mentors, advisors, and other stakeholders and collaborators from both public and private agencies, this unique design process is “part of a movement that’s defining how Hong Kong designs public spaces” says DTFS Advisor Mark Blackwell. Thinking beyond infrastructure, how can we ensure that from design, to fabrication, production, making, and management, we can fully understand the needs of the people?

Special thanks to our guest experts and respondents Ada Wong (Convenor & Director, The Good Lab), Alex Bent (Managing Partner, District15), Chris Yuen (Play Environment Consultant, Playright), Helen Fan (M+/ Design Trust Research Fellow), Marvin Chen (President, HKIA), Sara Wong (Co-founder, Para Site, and Landscape Architect), and Willie San (Senior Property Services Manager, ArchSD) for their sharing and input that will help shape the next stages of the teams’ micro-parks. And thank you to our co-moderators Marisa Yiu (Co-founder/ Executive Director, Design Trust), Christopher Law (Founding Director, Oval Partnership), Mark Blackwell (Creative Director, Morphis Landscape Architects) for a thought-provoking discussion and dialogue.
