The artwork “Water” is part of a series that reinterprets traditional Chinese landscape paintings, typically created in black and white watercolor, through a modern, abstract lens. Cynthia reimagines these classical works in vibrant colors while preserving the elongated, linear forms characteristic of Chinese art. Each piece bridges the past and present, blending cultural heritage with personal creativity to create a unique visual language. Water is a vital element in Chinese art and Feng Shui, symbolizing life, adaptability, and prosperity. In this painting, water flows from the top to the bottom of the canvas, representing energy and movement. It embodies the flow of life— overcoming obstacles, adapting to change, and moving forward. Water also signifies purification and abundance, offering a sense of calm while evoking the accumulation of wealth. Through this work, Cynthia aims to evoke a sense of calm and renewal, while also symbolizing the flow of prosperity and the promise of growth in life.

The work has been auctioned off during the Charity Auction on March 22nd 2025 and creatively loaned by the generous bidder for Design Trust Charity Exhibition: Transformational Exceptions.
