Our City - Motion and Emotion

Inspired by St John’s Building, where William Lim’s architecture office resided for five years, he painted the building and its fluid neighborhood, surrounded by roadways, iconic architecture, greenery, and a tram link to the Peak. This ecosystem is a slice and miniature of Hong Kong, enveloping the vitality, energy, prosperity and architecture of a city in motion. William’s painting is composed of on-site observation, memory and imagination, creating a surreal, fantastic and optimistic world that mixes history, the present and a wish for the future. Uniquely created for Design Trust Charity Auction 2026, the painting integrates the scenes of the charity event into his artistic world.
