Keith Macgregor’s "Central & North Wanchai, aerial view, Hong Kong 1973" is a visual record of the city of Hong Kong on the precipice of its modern identity. Captured during a pivotal decade of development, the photograph offers a sprawling perspective of the northern shoreline of Hong Kong Island, long before the massive land reclamation projects of the 1990s that reshaped the coast.

About Keith Macregor

Having worked as a commercial photographer for fifty years, Macgregor has witnessed the rapid westernization of Hong Kong. He has made tremendous efforts to document the Golden Years of Hong Kong from the 1970s to 1990s, often juxtaposing tradition against modernity in fashion, in particular to Hong Kong’s public consciousness and visual culture. Although he started as a photographer, his recent works have, as seen in this item, ventured into new territories of augmented realities.
