The works ‘Aerial Peak Tram, 2025’ and ‘Sunset at the Peak, 2026’ by Austin Bell are developed in conversation with Lead Curator, Marisa Yiu, uniquely for Design Trust Charity Auction 2026. Responding to the curatorial theme “The Art of Movement” and the site of Peak Tram, ‘Aerial Peak Tram, 2025’ highlights the movement of the Peak Tram through the forest landscape of Hong Kong Victoria Peak, rendering the interaction and dialogues between the technology development and the natural landscape of Hong Kong through time. ‘Sunset at the Peak, 2026’ captures the back side of the Peak Tower, which is less commonly seen for the public, with the backdrop of the breathtaking skyline and architecture landscape of Hong Kong’s Central district and the Kowloon Peninsula. The work highlights the unique angle of the Peak Tower overlooking the city of Hong Kong through time and changes.
