The paintings of Korean artist Song Hyeong-Noh are characterized by a heartwarming, dreamlike quality combined with striking technical precision. His work primarily explores themes of dreams, hope, and love, often using a personal symbolic language.

In A pair of Lemon, Grape & Pomegranate, the fruits are placed on a stonewall against a dark background – a relatively artificial and unrealistic context. The fruits look fresh and organic, creating a compelling visual tension between the tenderness and hardness, the warmth and coldness, and the natural and artificial environment.

In Song's paintings, stonewalls are always depicted as the barriers and structures of reality. The solid and immovable walls are the "man-made" stage where life unfolds, contrasting sharply with the organic dreams and hopes found elsewhere in his art.
