Development & Events Manager

With Manager level business development skills and acumen (Roles and title can be discussed in detail with the right candidates' background, strengths, experience), this role requires engagement with patrons, trustees, and sponsors relationships, as well as events management and exhibition production such as the Annual Gala and auction. Working closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors, the candidate should be a leader, an enthusiastic learner, detailed oriented, great organiser, self-starter, and interested in design, cultural and design related issues with international experience and global mindset. This position is to commence as soon as possible.

Responsibilities:

- Structuring and management of patrons, trustees, and sponsors relationships;

- Developing an annual programme of events for patrons, trustees, and sponsors;

- Driving and executing CRM/Database management and adhering to data privacy regulations;

- Work plan strategies including budgets, projected incomes and tracking monthly budgets;

- Building sponsorship acquisition and renewal strategies;

- Planning, executing and implementation of annual fundraiser and other events;

- Planning and implementation of marketing collaterals and messaging to ensure brand alignment and collaboration with team.

The position will require great communication skills in both spoken and written English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin), attention to details, and events management.

Fluency in spoken and written English, and Chinese is required. Strongly preferred with fluent spoken and written Mandarin Chinese/ Putonghua as a plus. Knowledge of the Design Industry, Exhibition Production, Cultural and creative ecosystem of Hong Kong, Greater Bay area, Shanghai and Beijing to Asian regions is expected and a knowledge and alignment with DESIGN TRUST core values.

Candidate with Master Level Degree academic qualification is preferred and highly recommended for this post. Minimum 5 years of work experience in a professional field is preferred.

Graphic Designer & Project Coordinator

Design Trust, an initiative of the local registered charity Hong Kong Ambassadors of Design, is a grant funding and community platform supporting creative projects that develop expertise, build research initiatives and content related to Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. The NGO organisation is seeking a dynamic, creative, and highly organized Graphic Designer & Project Coordinator to engage in graphic/communication design and hands-on project coordination. Working closely with the Programmes team, the candidate will contribute to our flagship initiatives across Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.

 

Responsibilities:

- Graphic & Communication Design: Research, design, and produce publicity content, publications, exhibition collateral, social media assets, and digital marketing materials. Support the execution of marketing and PR strategies across Design Trust's website and social platforms.

- Project & Event Coordination: Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless development and production of design proposals and physical deliverables. Support meetings, workshops, site inspections, and events for flagship initiatives including Design Trust Futures Studio and Grants Programmes.

- Research & Archiving: Participate in early-stage concept research for design and cultural research projects. Prepare presentation decks, proposals, and reports, while systematically archiving design processes and project materials.

Requirements:

- University degree in Graphic/Communication Design, Visual Arts, Architecture, or a related discipline.

- 1–2 years of professional experience in communication design, architecture and design education preferred; passionate fresh graduates, junior candidates and prospective interns with strong design portfolios are highly encouraged to apply.

- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and video editing tools) and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Technologically adept and enthusiastic about incorporating emerging digital and AI tools into workflows.

- Fluency in spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

- Proactive self-starter with strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, ability to work independently or collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, and openness to develop knowledge and skills in different disciplines related to design culture.

Grants & Programme Coordinator

Design Trust, an initiative of the local registered charity Hong Kong Ambassadors of Design, is a grant funding and community platform supporting creative projects that develop expertise, build research initiatives and content related to Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. The NGO organisation is seeking an organized, dynamic and proactive Grants & Programme Coordinator to manage grant & fellowship schemes, programme operations, and project archive. Working closely with the Grants & Programme team, the appointee will act as a primary point of contact for Design Trust grants recipient community and expanded networks of cultural partners.

 

Responsibilities:

- Grants & Fellowship Management: Handle incoming grant applications via the online grant portal, liaise with applicants, coordinate vetting panel meetings, and schedule interview sessions. Organize vetting documentation, meeting notes, and panel summaries following the organisation’s guidelines and protocols.

- Programme & Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate daily communications, meetings, workshops, site visits, and public events for grant projects, fellowship schemes, flagship initiatives, and ongoing research. Liaise with internal and external partners to maintain project timelines.

- Archive & Inventory Management: Maintain and manage the grants archive and physical/digital outcome inventories (including publications, moving images, design prototypes, and special archival materials) in a systematic manner, ensuring accuracy and validity of information. Participate in the research and activation of the grants archive materials.

- Communications & Content Support: Draft, copyedit, and manage bilingual promotional/informational materials related to grant schemes across Design Trust’s web, social media channels, publications and event collaterals. Assist in early-stage research and presentation materials for flagship initiatives and community programmes.

Requirements:

- University degree in Design, Architecture, Cultural Studies, Museum Studies, or a related discipline.

- 1–2 years of working experience in design education, cultural management, gallery & museum operation, archive management preferred; motivated fresh graduates, junior candidates and prospective interns with relevant project, cultural institution, or academic exposure are welcomed to apply.

- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is preferred. Technologically adept and open to leveraging digital tools and AI platforms.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Design Trust an initiative of registered charity Hong Kong Ambassadors of Design, an innovative non-profit organization, is seeking for a detailed oriented, and organized team member to engage in the smooth operations, financial and administrative matters, and office management of all the documentation of the organization, and supporting all day-to-day operations. Candidates should possess the ability to execute the overall administration, accounting, financial and smooth running of the registered charity.

This position is to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and contribution to a retirement benefits scheme. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.  Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of Administrative & Finance Officer role.

 

Responsibilities:

- Work closely with the Executive Director and team members of the organization.

- Responsible for executing administrative duties, book-keeping and financial processing, and smooth running of the office.

- Ensure daily operations and functions are executed and on time.

- Maintain and update administrative filing in a systematic way, ensuring accuracy and validity of information.

- Keep financial records, performing financial procedures, and maintaining accounting records.

- Communicate with partnership institutions and organizations for DESIGN TRUST Gala, patron programmes and grants programmes.

- Develop and maintain effective office systems and supporting efficient running of daily operations, including office and archive gallery space such as minor office renovation matters.

- Ensure staff handbook is reviewed and updated as required.

- Maintaining personnel records, managing and executing all optimize procedures such as vendors, who are involved in database management.

- Attend all functions as required and provide logistics support for programmes and activities, venue and exhibition support logistics.

- Support all matters relating to the studio - office and archive gallery space such as office exhibition matters or design exhibition coordination related matters.

- Coordinate with outside consultants or departments, external vendors and service providers to ensure smooth daily operation

- Attend all functions as required and provide logistics support for patron and fundraising programmes and activities, venue and exhibition support logistics.

Requirements:

- University Degree holder.

- At least 5 years of full time working experience.

- Ability to build and maintain relationships, proactive and able to work independently. Work efficiently and accurately.

DESIGN TRUST ANNUAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME - GRAPHIC or ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

We are currently seeking creative interns in graphic design, architectural designers, individuals with strong research skills to work on book design, programme research, Studio archival works, graphics for social media, infographics with a curatorial mindset. Interns play a key role in the accomplishment of our mission, and gain access to our staff and network of advisors, architects and designers here in Hong Kong and the region.
