Design Trust partnered with New York-based Storefront for Art and Architecture to bring the first ever Storefront International Series to Asia and Hong Kong from 7th-9th July 2017.
Storefront International Series: Hong Kong (Storefront IS Hong Kong) was a three-day series of events that took place in contested sites across the city of Hong Kong. Events sought to address the nature of urban public life, and to highlight the challenges and opportunities faced by Hong Kong residents.
Local and global agents from various fields presented and discussed their ideas and observations about various places within the city, bringing to the forefront a larger conversation about the cultural and physical landscapes of the region. Storefront IS Hong Kong aimed to go beyond social, disciplinary, and ideological boundaries, breaking established lines of division to produce spaces of collective thought, reflection, and ultimately, action.
