Focused on a speculative future Hong Kong, where recreational land is becoming scarce, MobilePark is a park “delivery system” that allows communities and individuals to order personalised park experiences on demand.

At the beginning of the project, our Mentor Sam Jacob suggested studying the history of parks. Looking into the evolving functions and values of parks in different eras, we were inspired to think about what parks should look like in future Hong Kong. There are already professionals from different fields working on park design and studies for years ahead. Hong Kong is now undergoing fast and unpredictable changes in the political, cultural, social and economic aspects. So, what interests us is how the “parkscape” would be like in a possible future where certain issues such as population growth, the free market system and the uses of land resources have gone to an extreme.
Please read page 98 - 121 of our Programme Portfolio for more details.
In the MobilePark system, different park experiences are created through putting together different functional modules – green modules, zen garden modules, modules with different trees, monument modules, furniture modules, rock landscape modules, water pond modules, to name a few.
All modules are stored and fabricated in a MobilePark station located inside a factory building. When there is an order, modules will be loaded onto a truck automatically and it will be delivered.
