The designer mentee teams had a thought-provoking evening at Spring Workshop with International Mentor Elizabeth Diller, founding partner of New York-based Diller Scofidio + Renfro (DS+R). DS+R is a New York-based interdisciplinary design studio that spearheaded many prominent public projects such as the High Line, a 2.33km-long elevated linear park transformed from a disused railroad in New York. Over skype, the teams shared with Elizabeth their schemes and prototype development. Apart from providing feedback to develop even stronger prototypes that would benefit the local communities, Elizabeth also shared her experience in designing High Line in New York and discussed with the group how public-private involvement can benefit the city.
