What makes a playground inclusive? Design Trust Futures Studio mentees spent the afternoon at a children’s playground in Ap Lei Chau, reliving their younger days as they brainstormed ways to design an inclusive park. “What we call inclusive play is not just about the physical environment,” said Chris Yuen, of Playright Children’s Play Association. The mentees also spent the evening with local contemporary visual artist Kacey Wong, who shared his thoughts on design, and Maggie Lin, whose mindfulness practice cultivated openness, creativity and an attitude for public engagement.
Following an afternoon exploring the idea of play and inclusiveness, Design Trust Futures Studio mentees visited local contemporary visual artist Kacey Wong’s studio, where he shared his thoughts on design, and Maggie Lin prepared the teams for public engagement with an open and creative attitude.
