The Sharing Roundtable on 29 March, 2022 saw Daisy Yiyou Wang, Deputy Director, Curatorial and Programming, and Tianlong Jiao, Head Curator from Hong Kong Palace Museum shared their knowledge and expertise in Chinese history and arts with the designer-mentees as well as master-mentors and collaborators. Wang explained the sophisticated consideration of material use and craftsmanship in the everyday artifacts found in the Forbidden City, which became a critical reference point for designer-mentees working on material innovation. From an archaeological perspective, Jiao talked about Chinese Zodiac as half-human and half-animal motifs identified in ancient remains, offering another portal for the designer mentees to understand this cultural symbol.
