Design Trust display at UABB Shenzhen Qianhai Sub-venue “Shenzhen-Hong Kong Collaborative Platform”

We are pleased to announce that the 9th UABB Shenzhen Qianhai Sub-venue “Shenzhen-Hong Kong Collaborative Platform” curated by Marisa Yiu with Zheng Zhou in collaboration with Rong Zhao and Rui Zhang from Design Society is currently on display until May 7th 2023, marking the first exhibition in mainland China to showcase the highlights of design research and community projects supported by Design Trust in the past nine years.

Design Trust Seed Grant exhibition “Sand, Stone, Mountain”

Design Trust Seed Grant recipients Lily Zhang and Wataru Shinji’s “Sand, Stone, Mountain” at UABB 2022 Shenzhen Pingshan Sub-Venue from December 2022 to March 2023. The exhibition exemplifies the process akin to the practices, culture, and building tradition of the Hakka people, utilizing nature in its raw state to create new spatial experiences, and who currently to this day still live in this area of rich heritage.

Design Trust is pleased to share a selection of highlighted grant projects, including ‘Urban Fractals: a point cloud documentary of Hong Kong living spaces” by Haotian Zhang, Tianying Li and Guo Qian, “Your Kitchen Is Your Dining Room Is Your Greenhouse”, the installation “Balchen” by Leyuan Li, "Fishing: Becoming Lo Ting" by Su Chang and Ruo Jia that were all displayed at UABB Shenzhen 2022.

Design Trust Gala 2023 “The Art of Presence, Hong Kong” curated by internationally famed designer, lead designer of Regent Hotel and also Design Trust Futures Studio 2022 master mentor, Chi Wing Lo, and Marisa Yiu, Co-Founder, Lead Curator and Executive Director of Design Trust, celebrated the alluring power of both presence and absence as a philosophical gesture, artistic and material manifestation of humanity, and optimism that restores community connection and collaboration.
