DESIGN TRUST: Critically Homemade X MPAVILION Design Dialogue – tune in on Sunday, 28th March 2021
2021 DESIGN TRUST: Critically Homemade X MPAVILION Design Dialogue as part of the Melbourne Design Week 2021 will be broadcast on Sunday, 28th March 2021. In collaboration with MPavilion under the theme of ‘Space: Experiments in Time’, this online event focuses on the act of creative collaborations under the pandemic lockdown and prompts questions around resiliency and collectivism under the DESIGN TRUST: Critically Homemade programme and its “rainbow D” universal symbol of hope across different continents. |

Design Trust Seed Grantee Highlights
‘After_’ by Design Trust Seed Grant recipient Nicole Andrianjaka de Surville, as well as her team at Zolima CityMag, brought together young writers, videographers and photographers to reflect on how Covid-19 has changed Hong Kong and its society from 22nd January to 10th February 2021. Mark your diary - Design Trust Seed Grant recipient, designer Toby Crispy will be hosting a series of online SLOW STiTCH workshops at the century-old Hong Kong heritage building Blue House from 27th to 28th March 2021. |

Design Trust Feature Grant project – “Look: The Graphic Language of Henry Steiner” Exhibition to Open at the HKDI Gallery from 10th April to 30th May
Design Trust is pleased to announce “Look: The Graphic Language of Henry Steiner” exhibition to be held at the HKDI Gallery from 10th April to 30th May. The project is the brainchild of 2019 Design Trust Feature Grantees, the team from the Centre for Communication Design at the Hong Kong Design Institute, this inspiring, first-ever retrospective exhibition on Henry Steiner is not to be missed! |

Design Trust Grantee Project Highlight | Inter-island Festival and Island Hopping from 26th to 28th March 2021
With Hong Kong’s spring season emerging, Inter-island Festival is launching soon from 26th to 28th March (Friday to Sunday). Design Trust Feature Grantee Yip Kai Chun and his team, Myriem Alnet and Chan Chun Kit, and initiators of ISLANDERS map-zine, have been unwaveringly curating and planning this upcoming 3-day weekend festival amongst the COVID-19 challenges last year. Public installations, walks, exhibition-pop-ups will connect Hong Kong’s rich island culture of Peng Chau, Cheung Chau and Mui Wo and Chi Ma Wan on Lantau Island to highlight the distinct environment, communities and history of these islands to promote and protect their shared value and culture through design and cultural works. Selected works from the DESIGN TRUST: Critically Homemade collection will be displayed at Islanders Space Hoi Sing on Peng Chau during the Festival. |
