Design Trust Co-Presenting Plenary III: Museum / Curator Panels at BODW 2016

3. 12. 2016

Design Trust is excited to share that we will be involved in this year's "Culture & the City" forum at the Business of Design Week 2016. Our collaborators – leading curators from around the world will be speaking on their work and the future role of museums. Speakers include Sarah Herda (Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts), Joseph Grima (M+/Design Trust Research Fellow 2016), Zoë Ryan (The Art Institute of Chicago), Jennifer Dunlop Fletcher (SFMOMA) and Alice Black (Design Museum, London) along with HK based Eric Schuldenfrei, Marisa Yiu and Aric Chen as moderators. More here.

Our M+ / Design Trust Research Fellow 2016, Joseph Grima, will be sharing on his work regarding the Chicago Architecture Biennale. Launched in 2015, the Chicago Architecture Biennial is the first platform of its kind for architecture in North America. The inaugural edition, titled The State of the Art of Architecture, was co-curated by Joseph Grima and Sarah Herda and rallied over one hundred participants from more than thirty countries - the majority representing practices established after 2000, reflecting the Biennial's aim to support and disseminate the work and ideas of a new generation of designers. The exhibition set out to observe architecture as a cultural practice, as opposed to a professional practice, and focused  ideas that shape buildings more than on buildings as products in and of themselves. As such, it presented itself as a round table at which people of all ages, backgrounds and origins were invited to present their outlook.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on December 3rd at the Culture & the City forum. Get your tickets today.
