The Design Trust Futures Studio Public Ideas Review will be held on 8th July 2017
We are excited to launch a new flagship programme Design Trust Futures Studio. Formatted as a series of workshops, discussions and conceptual design interventions on a theme of “SMALL IS MEANINGFUL”, Mentors and Advisors work closely with Designer Mentees to showcase new ideas and works to the public. On 8th July 2017 at Spring Workshop, they will present their conceptual ideas for future micro-parks at a Public Ideas Review attended by guest critics.

Storefront International Series Hong Kong will be held from 7th to 9th July 2017
Design Trust is excited to announce that from the 7th-9th of July we are partnering with the New York-based Storefront for Art and Architecture, bringing the first ever Storefront International Series to Asia and Hong Kong.
A number of the events are open to the public, such as the “Walking Series” through the streets of Hong Kong and the “Cabaret Series” with an afternoon of performances. We encourage our community to RSVP and join us over the weekend!
Design Trust / RCA Fellowship in Design Curation 2017 – Application Deadline on 23 June

This year Design Trust launched a new fellowship in collaboration with the Royal College of Art. Applications are invited for the Design Trust / RCA Fellowship in Design Curation, which is designed to support the development of curatorial careers in design. With a sponsored six-month tailored made course at the Royal College of Art and a six-month placement at a leading museum in London, the Fellowship includes a maintenance grant of £12,000. Additional support is also available from the RCA to support the development of research outcomes. Application deadline is 23rd June 2017.

Our next grant application deadline is 20th July 2017. Applications are open for both Design Trust Feature Grants and Design Trust Seed Grants.
M+ / Design Trust Research Fellowship 2018 – Application deadline on 24 July

The M+ / Design Trust Research Fellowship programme aims to support an original research project investigating issues relating to design and architecture in the Greater Pearl River Delta region, and between the region and other parts of the world. Apart from expanding the current body of knowledge in these areas, it is hoped that the findings from the fellowship will also inform future acquisitions and other programmes at M+.

New Advisory Council members Cole Roskam and Zoë Ryan
Design Trust is thrilled to welcome Cole Roskam as our new Pearl River Delta Design Council member, and Zoë Ryan as our new International Advisory Council member.
Cole Roskam is an associate professor of architectural history and theory in the Department of Architecture at the University of Hong Kong, while Zoë Ryan is the John H. Bryan Chair and Curator of Architecture and Design at the Art Institute of Chicago.
Design Trust Futures Studio Design Dialogue
An engaging Design Dialogue was held on 18th May 2017
On 18th May 2017, Design Trust presented a Design Dialogue at B&B Italia Flagship Store to share with our community Design Trust Futures Studio.
International Mentor Mimi Hoang kicked off the evening presenting on the topic: “Small Moves, Create Big Impact”. This was followed by a panel discussion with Mimi Hoang and the Hong Kong-based mentors Stanley Wong and Gary Chang, moderated by Marisa Yiu.
