Design Trust Futures Studio 2018 Concept Presentation

Design Trust Futures Studio 2018 presents the first Concept Presentation of the four design teams’ initial design ideas for our future micro-parks. This half-day event will engage the public through presentation of the teams’ initial concepts, designer mentees will also engage in round-table discussions with mentors, advisors, as well as leading experts from various fields, including Michael Young (Founder, Michael Young Studio), Marvin Chen (President, HKIA), Frank Leung and Irene Lai (Co-founders, Via Architecture), Kacey Wong (Visual Artist, Founding Member of Art Citizens), Elita Lam (Head, Department of Fashion and Image Design, Hong Kong Design Institute), James Acuna (Founder and Creative Director, JJA / Bespoke Architecture), Mark Blackwell (Partner, Morphis), Donald Choi (Chief Executive Officer, Chinachem Group), Willie San (Senior Property Services Manager, ArchSD), Doris Fok (Assistant Director, LCSD), Horman Chan (Chief Leisure Manager, LCSD), Sean Affleck (Director, Make Architects), Amy Chan (Curator, Learning and Engagement, M+), Benjamin Cha (Chief Executive, Grosvenor Asia Pacific), and Eric Schuldenfrei (Associate Dean for Special Projects and Communications, Faculty of Architecture, the University of Hong Kong).

M+ / Design Trust Fellow, Fan Lok Yi will also share her current research in collaboration with Sampson Wong, on Shek Lei Playground, built during the 1960s - 1970s, exploring the movement of “revolutionary playgrounds” constructions in Hong Kong.
