ACKNOWLEDGING OUR COMMUNITY

Our work is only possible with the great support of our community, trustees, advisors, patrons, funding partners, and the designers, mentees and grantees who work tirelessly to produce new knowledge for the energetic and vibrant city of Hong Kong and our region. We would like to acknowledge the generous individuals, organisations and partners who have contributed to the growth of the Design Trust initiative since its conception.

Our Trustees

Design Trustees are individuals or corporates who share our passion in developing design expertise, building research initiatives and content related to Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. Our Trustees are vital to the growth and development of Design Trust and its initiatives. Design Trustees also serve in consultative roles to the organisation in wide ranging areas of expertise including knowledge in heritage conservation, public space and urban planning, education and various academic interests.

Our Annual Gala

Design Trust’s annual Gala raises critical funding for its granting and fellowship programmes, public outreach events and key essential operational costs to advocate for the value of design. These galas are supported by a dedicated and generous network of donors, patrons, supporters and sponsors. Each year, established designers and collectives from Hong Kong and around the world act as Creative Director(s) of the event, and the gala is a platform for Design Trust Grantees to work under their mentorship to critically produce the visual identity and installations for the evening.

Our Programmes

Design Trust Futures Studio is a flagship programme of Design Trust, that makes visible the processes and positive role of design in the culture of contemporary design and production. Experts from different fields act as mentors to mentee teams in the exploration of materials, production, and to put forth the positive value of design of public spaces, public/private assets and/or critical issues in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area and its relationship globally. Each year’s programme is generously supported by individuals, corporates, organisations and public bodies.
