Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Hong Kong Ambassadors of Design (HKAoD) is pleased to present The Ambassador’s Ball 2017, which will take place on Saturday, 14th Ocbtober at the Kerry Hotel, supported by prominent design luminaries, creative influencers and stakeholders, art connoisseurs, collectors and society icons. Net proceeds will benefit Design Trust.
“In bringing various communities together, I hope we can advance a spirit of generosity and advocate for the positive values of design to better shape the city and region we live in,” says Marisa Yiu, Co-founder, Executive Director of Design Trust.
Distinguished by the always creative and whimsical theme each year, a local artist/ designer is selected each year to lead the fundraiser’s creative direction. Titled “科水 (fo seoi)” – fundraise for the future prosperity of Design Trust, this year sees the most anticipating stellar duo of renowned architect and interior designer André Fu joining forces with young emerging Chinese typography designer Adonian Chan to mastermind the concept and design of the event.
“HKAoD began in 2006 as a small non-profit with big dreams to enlivening our city through cultural experiences with continuous endeavor to promote design and creativity. To date, in benefit of Design Trust, we are proud to have enabled research grants, design and culture projects. This year, we are delighted to celebrate a decade of progress of the organization by bringing together all of the Creative Directors from the previous years including Stanley Wong, Alan Chan, Douglas Young, Vivienne Tam, Neri & Hu, Joyce Wang, Adrian Wong and Stickyline along with André and Adonian to create thematic artworks as a tribute to the momentus milestone,” says Alan Lo, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
As with every year, highlight of the evening is the Live and Silent auctions featuring exceptional and limited edition works of art, furniture and décor items from some of the most celebrated names in the local and international art and design circles. This year,unique, special pieces by renowned artists and designers such as Rem Koolhaas, Zaha Hadid, Christian Liaigre, Takashi Murakai and Zheng Chongbin, Andre Fu, Adonian Chan and our eight past creative directors Stickyline, Adrian Wong, Joyce Wang, Neri&Hu, Vivienne Tam, Douglas Young, Alan Chan and Stanley Wong will be part of the auction.
