Design Trust 2020 January Grant Application is now open. Share with us your ideas and proposals by 20th January 2020. Design Trust offers grants to designers, curators, collectives and non-profit organisations for project proposals that are relevant to the context and content of Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area region.

Congratulations to this recent cycle’s Grant Recipients: Joel Austin & Kwan Q Li (UK/ Hong Kong) who will explore the agency and performativity of human communities within increasingly post-human urban environments; OMA Stedebouw and the Guggenheim Museum (Netherlands/ USA) will address urgent environment, political, and socioeconomic transformations of the countryside through a six-months exhibition, ‘Countryside, The Future’ in New York with a response lecture or workshop in Hong Kong in the fall 2020; Diego Caro Serrano (Spain/ Hong Kong) will portray Hong Kong’s underground music scenes from a spatial perspective, exploring the socio-political and economic factors through a series of documented mappings and exhibition; Liu He & Long Zou (China) will create a critical survey of the transformation of Nantou (Greater Bay Area), by mapping both the design interventions and social dynamics as case study on urban morphology; Michael Edward Kokora and his team at Object Territories (Hong Kong) will initiate research and a dialogue for Hong Kong’s urban identity and environmental transfomation; Zang Feng and his team at People’s Architecture Office in collaboration with More Than Architect (China) will develop new spatial designs that catalyse design thinking and impact both learners and the wider field of education through a series of experimental workshops taking place within schools, festivals and museum; Adam Hudec (Vienna/ Hong Kong) will develop an Air Quality Map to collect data in Hong Kong districts.
